Celtics, 29-25 (1)
It was the Rajon Rondo show early on, but Paul Pierce (5 points) and Ray Allen (9 points) took a more active role for the Celtics at the end of the first quarter.
Paul Pierce is taking it right at Tayshaun Prince. The Pistons forward is known for his defense, but Pierce is muscling him in the post. He drew two fouls on Prince in consecutive possessions. The first foul was accidentally credited to Antonio MyDyess, but Pierce yelled over to the scorer’s table to make sure Prince got the foul. Racking up fouls on Prince is obviously a mission for the Celtics captain.
