Snowed in
Celtics players were stuck at their Waltham practice facility for more than six hours after a team meeting yesterday afternoon. The meeting ended at 2:30, but most Celtics players didn’t attempt to leave until 8:30.
It typically takes Kendrick Perkins 7 minutes to get to his Waltham home.
“Crazy,” Perkins said today. “We couldn’t get out. Traffic. Cars stopping and running out of gas.”
Perkins said the rest of the team left at about the same time he did. Brian Scalabrine twice drove his car to the end of the parking lot earlier in the day and turned around.
When Perkins did finally leave, he said it only took him about 25 minutes.
“I broke a couple of rules getting home,” he said.
While they were waiting, Celtics players took halfcourt shots, got haircuts, and played cards.
“It was good team bonding time,” said Scalabrine.
