Gabe’s back

The Celtics have recalled rookie Gabe Pruitt from their NBDL affiliate, the Utah Flash, according to a press release from the team.

Pruitt averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in two games for Utah. The point guard hit the game-winner in the season opener against Anaheim, a game in which he scored 31 points and had eight assists.

Lack of playing time (he appeared in just two games so far this season for the Celtics) was the reason the team sent him down, coach Doc Rivers said last week. Rivers said he expected Pruitt would be back with the team before long. The Celtics could send Pruitt down again later.
