Welcome to the Garden, where the undefeated (2-0) Celtics will host the Denver Nuggets at 7:30 p.m. Denver is 1-2 following a loss to the Knicks last night in New York.
Arrived at the Garden to a familiar sight tonight – Rajon Rondo shooting jumpers. Rondo has worked hard on his jump shot before both home games this season. Working with director of player development (and former Williams point guard) Mike Crotty, Rondo focused mostly on that jumper from the wing he has been sticking the first two games.
James Posey, Tony Allen, Leon Powe, and Eddie House were out shooting around 5:10 p.m. tonight. Already finished with his shooting, Paul Pierce was already running back into the tunnel at that point. Pierce gets his work in notoriously early. He’s in uniform before some players even arrive at the arena.
It’s virtually an All-Star game tonight at the Garden: Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Pierce, Allen Iverson, Carmelo Anthony, and Marcus Camby will all be in the starting lineups tonight.
One of the Celtics dancers wore a No. 15 Carmelo Anthony Syracuse jersey during warm-ups.
Having a little fun, Posey took a pass from a ball boy, put the ball through his legs while falling out of bounds, and hurled up a three-pointer from the corner that touched nothing but net.
We’ll be back with observations from both locker rooms when they open shortly.
