Boston Celtics

Celtics, 38-22 (1)

The Celtics put on an offensive clinic in the first quarter, shooting 71 percent from the floor with 12 assists and only 2 turnovers to score 38 points. The Celtics also had 6 steals.

  • After Kendrick Perkins blocked Kenyon Martin at the rim with 9:50 left in the first, Ray Allen pushed the ball and found a cutting Kevin Garnett for an emphatic dunk. Definitely got the crowd pumped up.
  • Rajon Rondo stole the ball twice at half court in the first quarter and brought it down to the other end for an easy layup. He appeared to get a piece of Allen Iverson’s face on the second steal, and a frustrated Iverson was clearly upset with the play.
  • Ridiculous ball movement by the Celtics here in the first quarter. Paul Pierce went behind-the-back to Kendrick Perkins at the 5:30 mark, and Perk caught and finished strong with a dunk.
  • Kevin Garnett has hit 3 of 4 jumpers from outside of 18 feet.
  • Red Sox first baseman (and Gold Glover) Kevin Youkilis arrived at the 9:00 mark in the first quarter.
