The second quarter went about as well as the first quarter for Paul Pierce. The Celtics captain started the second by missing a floater and a put-back attempt in the first minute of the period. Pierce missed his first seven shots of the game before being replaced by Delonte West at the 9:51 mark in the first half with the Celtics down nine. Pierce did not reenter the game before halftime.

  • Center Michael Olowokandi has the flu and did not dress for tonight’s game.
  • Three former UConn Huskies (Josh Boone, Marcus Williams, and Clifford Robinson) were on the floor at the same time for the Nets for a good stretch of the quarter.
  • Cyrus from the Real World Boston (think 1997, kids) is in the house for the second time this season.
