Welcome to the Garden
Welcome to the Garden, where the streaking (not the good kind) Celtics (12-32) take on the L.A. Lakers (27-18) at 7:30 p.m.
The Celtics have lost twelve games in a row and can tie the franchise record for consecutive losses with a loss tonight against the Lakers. L.A. has lost three straight and six of 10. Kobe Bryant missed last night’s game against the Knicks while serving a one-game suspension for “striking” San Antonio’s Manu Ginobili in the face on Sunday.
The Celtics split last year’s season series with the Lakers, with the Celtics taking the first matchup in L.A. in February and the Lakers returning the favor in Boston the next month.
Leon Powe is the only Celtics player warming up on the court right now. There are usually four or five Celtics players from a list of Al Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins, Rajon Rondo, Gerald Green, and Allan Ray warming up by this time.
The locker rooms have just opened. We’ll be back soon with comments from the players and coaches.
