Doc suits up
“I felt great,” said Rivers. “I was surprised. Right afterwards I didn’t feel good. I thought I had done something to my calf. But I woke up and I felt great. That was the best news of the day.”
Gerald Green said it was interesting playing against his coach.
“He’s not a good shooter, but he sure can cook,” said Green.
Green was asked if Rivers knew the plays.
“There would be something wrong if he didn’t know the plays,” said Green. “He was shooting jumpers, and that’s what we want. He was like 1-for-30. He said he could have dunked, but Nah. Age got him. He wouldn’t have been here if he would have dunked.”
“I didn’t make a shot,” said Rivers. “But they didn’t figure out that I was only passing the ball.”
“The guy probably hurt most by all of these injuries would clearly be Al,” said Rivers. “A lot of people would think it would be the other way, but he’s going to get a lot of attention when he gets the ball. The silver lining of that is that he’s going to learn how to play out of that.”
