The Bruins are adding some more heft to their prospect pipeline in Cornell forward Dalton Bancroft.
Boston announced on Thursday that they have signed the 6-foot-3, 210-pound forward to one-year, entry-level contract for the 2025-26 season with an NHL salary cap hit of $950,000. The 24-year-old Bancroft will report to Providence and play out the remainder of this season on an amateur tryout (ATO) contract.
Bancroft is coming off a junior season at Cornell where he scored 15 goals and 27 points across 36 games with the Big Red — ranking second on the team behind fellow Bruins prospect Ryan Walsh in scoring. Bancroft and Cornell’s season came to a close over the weekend when they fell to Boston University in overtime of the NCAA Regional Final in Toledo.
While Bancroft was not drafted by Boston, he has been on their radar over the last few years, with the winger participating in Bruins development camp last July at Warrior Arena before heading back to college.

While the Madoc, Ontario native projects as more of a bottom-six forward at the pro level, his high motor and physicality made him a coveted undrafted college free agent during this current signing period.
