Brad Marchand may no longer don the spoked-B on the ice.

But forlorn Bruins fans still reeling from Friday’s shocking trade can toast the former Bruins captain with his own limited-edition beer this month.

Sam Adams announced a limited-edition beer on Wednesday as part of a collaboration with Marchand — who was traded to the Florida Panthers five days ago.

Despite the unfortunate timing of Marchand’s exit, Sam Adams is spinning the release of the brew — dubbed “Marchand(y)” — as a fitting tribute to Marchand, who spent 16 seasons in Boston and helped the Bruins win a Stanley Cup in 2011.

“Brad Marchand truly embodies the heart of Boston sports—grittiness, skills, and always showing up when it counts,” Lauren Price, head of brand of Samuel Adams, said in a press release. “His blend of elite performance, passion, and relentless drive to perfect his craft makes him a natural fit for Samuel Adams. He’s built a lasting legacy here in Boston, and we’re proud to partner with Brad, who represents the spirit of our city so well. Boston will miss him!”

“Being the captain of the Boston Bruins was the greatest honor of my life, and I am proud to team up with Samuel Adams on the Marchand(y) as a tribute to my time in this city,” Marchand added in the release. “I will always be a Bostonian at heart, and I hope that fans will enjoy this beer to celebrate the 16 unforgettable years I spent wearing this jersey.”

According to Sam Adams’ press release, Marchand(y) is a “fun play on the classic shandy style ale, a perfect counterbalance to Brad’s spirited reputation on the ice. It’s fruit-forward with notes of blackberry, easy-drinking, yet with just enough edge to keep things interesting, much like Brad himself.”

Sam Adams released a promotional video announcing the new brew on Wednesday, which features Marchand causing havoc with “Your Cousin From Boston” at the brewery.

Marchand(y) will be available on draft and in limited-edition cans, while supplies last, at the Samuel Adams Downtown Boston Taproom and Boston Brewery — starting on March 30.
