Defenseman Nikita Zadorov believes it would be unwise to count out the Bruins.

Speaking with reporters after Boston’s 3-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, Zadorov made it clear where he stands on the team’s long-term potential.

“I’m not planning to miss the playoffs,” Zadorov said. “That’s why I’m here. I’m here to play playoff hockey.”

Zadorov said he wants to see TD Garden “buzzing” during the playoffs.

“That’s definitely extra motivation for us,” Zadorov told reporters. “You guys are doing a good job of writing us off. That’s extra motivation as well for this group.”

Zadorov said the Bruins have a lot of people who want to compete and play on a big stage.

“I think that’s our mind-set every day,” he said.
