In search of offense, Bruins recall forwards Georgii Merkulov and Ryan Tufte
In hopes of an offensive booster shot, the Bruins Saturday morning recalled forwards Georgii Merkulov and Ryan Tufte, both of whom were penciled into the lineup for the afternoon game against the Blues at TD Garden.
The Bruins also placed veteran defenseman Hampus Lindholm, felled by a shot early in the 3-2 win over St. Louis Tuesday night, on injured reserve. Lindholm, who had just been promoted to the No. 1 power-play unit, exited when hit in the right knee by a wrist shot.
Patrick Brown, called up Thursday from Providence, was returned to the AHL affiliate. He filled in at Dallas for veteran Tyler Johnson, who left the club on short notice because of what the club termed a family matter.
