The Bruins eliminated the Blue Jackets in Game 6 of their second-round playoff series Monday, 3-0.

A first-period goal by Sean Kuraly was called back after a coach’s challenge due to interference, but the Bruins kept it coming even as the Blue Jackets generated 10 more shots on goal (39 to the Bruins’ 29.)

David Krejci’s second-period goal finally opened the scoring, while Marcus Johansson and David Backes added to the Bruins’ lead in the third period.

Tuukka Rask posted his first shutout in the playoffs since 2014, making 39 saves to send the Bruins to the Eastern Conference Finals.

David Krejci, 1-0

After Jake DeBrusk’s initial shot rang off the net’s crossbar, the rebound ricocheted around the boards and back to Krejci. Krejci’s attempt from the top of the circle sailed past Bobrovsky’s blocker side and to the top corner.

Marcus Johansson, 2-0

Simple: let it rip, make the goalie make a save. Bobrovsky made the initial stop on Johansson’s snapshot, but he could not stop the puck from trickling over the goal line and into the net.

David Backes, 3-0

The Bruins’ very next shot on goal advanced their lead to three. David Krejci dished the puck to Torey Krug entering the offensive zone and Krug led Backes to the front of the net with a perfect pass. Backes tipped the puck in and sealed the Blue Jackets’ elimination.

The Bruins advance to play the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals.
