Less than two weeks after Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman and Special Olympics athlete Meghan Colby served as the Bruins’ fan banner captains, David Andrews and Justin Oates followed suit Saturday night.

Andrews, the Patriots’ center, and Oates, a Special Olympics athlete, saluted the crowd prior to the Bruins’ 4-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game 5.

Oates steadily waved the flag as Andrews pulled a beer out of his pocket, chugged it, and mercilessly smashed the empty can on the ground.

In August, the Bruins presented a $1 million check to Special Olympics Massachusetts, officially launching a new partnership.
