Video: Bruins role players score key goals in Game 7 victory over Leafs
Goals from Joakim Nordstrom, Marcus Johansson, and Sean Kuraly powered the Bruins to the second round.
The Bruins defeated the Maple Leafs 5-1 Tuesday in Game 7 to advance to the second round of the 2019 NHL playoffs.
The Bruins received timely scoring from depth players Joakim Nordstrom, Marcus Johansson, and Sean Kuraly to power the team to their third consecutive Game 7 victory over Toronto.
Here are all the goals from the night:
First period
Joakim Nordstrom’s low-percentage shot from the left side of the net wiggled its way through Frederik Andersen’s pads for the first goal of the game with less than six minutes to play in the first period.

Roughly three minutes later, Karson Kuhlman’s forecheck created a turnover behind the Leafs’ net. Marcus Johansson picked up the puck, curled around the net, and fired a snapshot past Andersen’s stick side to the top corner of the net.

Second period
John Moore’s giveaway gave the Leafs’ John Tavares a prime scoring opportunity on Tuukka Rask. And score he did.

Third period
Sean Kuraly rushed the puck into the offensive zone on his own and created enough space between him and Morgan Rielly to cleanly fire a shot just over Andersen’s glove.

Charlie Coyle put away an empty-net goal with less than three minutes to play to seal the deal for the Bruins.

Patrice Bergeron netted a second empty net goal as time expired and the TD Garden crowd celebrated the Bruins’ advance.
The Bruins will play the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round.
