Watch Zdeno Chara’s 1st fight of the season
He went at it with Pat Maroon of the St. Louis Blues.
Despite his 6 foot, 9-inch, 250-pound stature, Zdeno Chara doesn’t end up in fights too frequently at this point in his career.
In fact, according to hockeyfights.com, the 41-year-old defenseman’s last fight came in March of 2017. That is, until Thursday night.

In the first period of an eventual 5-2 Bruins win, Chara went at it with Pat Maroon (6’3, 225) of the St. Louis Blues. He got in a couple decent punches and eventually fell on Maroon before getting up and skating off to a huge ovation.
“Obviously you never want to go up against him, but you just try to hang on,” Maroon told FOX Sports Midwest.
