Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask is taking a leave of absence
“It’s not health-related,” the team's GM said after Friday's practice.
The Bruins granted Tuukka Rask “a leave of absence relating to a personal matter,” according to a one-sentence statement from the team Friday.
“It’s not health related,” GM Don Sweeney said to reporters after Friday’s practice. “It’s important to respect his privacy and allow him to deal with it for the next few days.”

Rask played in Thursday night’s 8-5 loss to the Vancouver Canucks, allowing three goals after relieving Jaroslav Halak late in the second period. He did not practice Friday with the team.
The Boston Globe’s Matt Porter reports the Bruins will call up a goaltender from AHL Providence, either Zane McIntyre or Dan Vladar, after Friday’s game against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
