The Bruins are headed to the second round after a thrilling four-goal third period against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7. The Lightning await. Tampa Bay, who brushed aside the New Jersey Devils in five games, will have had a full week of rest when the puck drops at Amalie Arena on Saturday.

The Lightning’s top line of Nikita Kucherov, Steven Stamkos, and J.T. Miller had seven goals between them in the first round. Charlie McAvoy and Zdeno Chara will be tasked with slowing them down, while on the other end of the ice Andrei Vasilevskiy stands in the way of the Bruins and the Eastern Conference finals.

Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy, a Jack Adams Award finalist, said the challenge ahead is as formidable as the one Boston just overcame.

“Not a lot of holes in their lineup,” he said of the Lightning. “We had some success regular season against them. We’re gonna have to find a way to replicate that and probably be even better.”
