Laing, a 25-year-old Marblehead native, was paralyzed after suffering a spinal cord injury while playing for the National Women’s Hockey League’s Boston Pride in an exhibition game at Gillette Stadium on December 31, 2015.
In participating in the 2017 Boston Marathon, she and Carpenter raised more than $80,000 for Journey Forward, a Canton nonprofit devoted to improving the lives of those affected by spinal cord injuries.
The Bruins entered Game 4 down 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.
