Free agent Loui Eriksson leaves the Bruins, signs with the Canucks

Eriksson departs for Vancouver after three seasons in Boston. USA Today Sports

Loui Eriksson is leaving Boston under far different circumstances than those that existed during his arrival.

The 30-year-old free agent is heading to the Vancouver Canucks on a six-year, $36 million deal according to multiple reports.  The loss of the right winger is a serious blow to the Bruins, given the 30 goals and 33 assists contributed by the Swede in 2015-2016.

Coming off the best season of his three-year tenure in Boston, Eriksson proved how valuable he could be just in time for his contract to expire.

Eriksson was traded to the Bruins on July 4, 2013. He was the highest-profile player sent in exchange for Tyler Seguin (who went to Dallas in return).
