The Bruins are pulling talent from across the Atlantic.

On Thursday morning, the Bruins announced the signing of  Peter Cehlarik, the team’s 3rd-round pick from the 2013 NHL Draft, to a three-year entry level contract. The Slovakian forward enjoyed a career year in the Swedish Hockey League last season, registering 20 points (11 G, 9A) and a +7 rating in 46 games for Lulea. The 20 year-old added 3 goals and 2 assists in 11 playoff games.

The signing provides additional young depth at forward for a Bruins team which has the 7th oldest average roster age in hockey. Boston’s top 5 goal scorers last season (Bergeron, Marchand, Eriksson, Beleskey, Krejci) are all over the age of 27.

With the departure of Alexander Khokhlachev to the KHL last month, and the unsure future of Loui Eriksson, Cehlarik has space to make his case in training camp next season.
