Bruins players are making some noise at the 2016 IIHF World Championship. After their NHL team missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Brad Marchand (Canada), David Pastrnak (Czech Republic), and Frank Vatrano (USA) joined their respective national teams for the tournament in Russia. Through each team’s first three games, the three Bruins forwards have already combined for four goals and four assists.

Brad Marchand, who left Canada’s 8-0 victory over Belarus yesterday after re-aggravating a pre-tournament injury, scored in each of Canada’s first two games. Halfway through Canada’s 7-1 win over Hungary, Edmonton’s Connor McDavid set up Marchand in the high slot for a quick score.

David Pastrnak, the Bruins’ 2014 first-round draft pick, has a goal and two assists through three games. Pastrnak’s goal against Sweden, his first in IIHF play, began a four-goal run that secured a 4-2 win.

Frank Vatrano, the leading scorer for the Providence Bruins and co-winner of the AHL’s rookie of the year award last season, was a late addition to Team USA’s IIHF roster. He has scored a goal and notched two assists in three games. His first IIHF goal came in Team USA’s 3-2 loss to Finland on Monday.
