Bruins trade talks starting to ‘ramp up’ according to Cam Neely

Cam Neely spoke with Felger and Mazz on 98.5 The Sports Hub about the Monday deadline. The Boston Globe

When the Kings came to town two weeks ago, all eyes were on Milan Lucic. The 27 year old was returning to TD Garden for the first time since donning the gold and black the previous year, and the Bruins only had good sentiments to send his way, honoring him with a tribute video.

Last year’s trade just before the NHL Draft gave Los Angeles Lucic, and gave the Bruins a first-round pick, Martin Jones (who would be traded to San Jose for a 2016 first-round pick and Sean Kuraly), and Colin Miller. But this season, the Bruins seem poised to make moves to improve their chances now, instead of after the season is over.

The rumor mill currently names Zdeno Chara and Loui Eriksson as the most likely pieces to be moved in the instance of a trade. Team president Cam Neely spoke to Felger & Mazz Thursday, and although he didn’t speak specifically to the Chara/Eriksson trade rumors, he spoke generally about Bruins trade activity as of late.

“The last couple days, from what Don’s been filling me in on, certainly starting to ramp up.’’

The trade deadline is Monday at 3pm.
