Watch the Bruins’ video tribute to Milan Lucic
The feeling is mutual. Milan Lucic still loves Boston. Boston still loves Milan Lucic.
The former Bruins left wing returned to TD Garden for the first time as a member of the L.A. Kings on Tuesday night. He was welcomed back with a video tribute and a standing ovation.

Lucic, 27, spent the first eight seasons of his NHL career with the Bruins, winning a Stanley Cup in 2011. He was traded to Los Angeles in June 2015 for defenseman Colin Miller, goalie Martin Jones and the 13th pick in the 2015 draft.

A day before his return to TD Garden, Lucic published a letter to Boston at The Players’ Tribune. In the note, Lucic reflected on the relationships he developed with Bruins legend Johnny Bucyk and teammates like Zdeno Chara as well as his first fight in front of the Boston crowd.
Again, I barely remember the fight. What I remember — actually, what I will never forget — is the sound of the Garden when the referee was taking me to the box.
That roar. Oh my gosh. It’s the best.
Bruins fans didn’t have much to cheer about on Tuesday after the tribute as the Kings skated to a 9-2 win. Lucic notched a goal and an assist in the Kings’ lopsided win.
