On Sunday, the John Scott-captained Pacific team took home the victory in the NHL All Star game. The contest featured 23 goals on 116 shots, a fake fight, and an unexpected MVP in fan-favorite Scott. But one of the highlights of the night was found not during the game itself, but right before it.

Before the game, the NHL continued its support of injured Boston Pride player Denna Laing, airing a video tribute that was just over a minute long. Laing injured her spinal cord on Dec. 31st at Gillette Stadium during the Outdoor Women’s Classic.

Two weeks ago, the Boston Bruins pledged $200,000 to a fund for Laing. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman announced an additional $200,000 donation on behalf of the NHL on Saturday.
