The Bruins’ offense came to life Friday night in a 4-1 win over the Devils with David Pastrnak back in the lineup. The 2014 first-round draft pick hadn’t played for the Bruins since suffering a foot injury in a Halloween contest against the Lightning.

Pastrnak was recalled from the Providence Bruins on Thursday. The 19-year-old returned from Finland earlier this week after representing his home country of the Czech Republic for four games in the 2016 World Junior Championships. Before jetting to Finland for the Juniors, Pastrnak appeared in two games for Providence, registering one assist.

Pastrnak’s return came with forwards David Krejci (upper-body injury) and Brad Marchand (suspension) out of the lineup on Friday. He played alongside Patrice Bergeron and Loui Eriksson, logging 17:04 of ice time, with one shot on goal.

In the second period, Pastrnak’s efforts on a power play eventually led to Jimmy Hayes’ ninth goal of the season. After notching five points in the Bruins first 41 games last season, Pastrnak led the Bruins in the second half of the season with 26 points.
