Referee cusses out and penalizes Predators winger for ‘embellishment’ against Bruins
Don’t try to sell a penalty on Tim Peel’s watch.
In the Predators’ 3-2 win over the Bruins Monday, the referee ripped Nashville winger James Neal for apparently embellishing after he appeared to take Boston goaltender Jonas Gustavsson’s stick to the face.
It sounds like Peel blows his whistle, and says, “F— you, you’re getting a f—ing embellishment.’’
Nine seconds later, Loui Eriksson scored a power play goal and gave the Bruins the 2-1 lead.
Under further review, Neal may have legitimately been shocked or hurt. But his reputation for theatrics preceded him.
