Bruins’ Brad Marchand out indefinitely with concussion
Brad Marchand is out with a concussion, Bruins head coach Claude Julien announced Sunday.
“We’re going about it with the League’s protocol with concussions and his return will be dictated by how quickly he recovers,’’ Julien said Sunday after practice, via Bruins.com, “so we have no timetable for him.’’
Marchand suffered the injury on what appeared to be an inadvertent elbow to the head from Dale Weise during the third period of the Bruins’ matchup against the Montreal Candiens on Saturday. The 27-year-old Bruin needed help from teammate Colin Miller to get off the ice, and leaned on physical therapist Scott Waugh on his way into the tunnel.
In his two games so far this season, Marchand has seven shots, and has served two penalty minutes.
The Bruins face the Tampa Bay Lightning at 1 p.m. on Monday.
