Watch Jack Eichel score his first NHL goal in his first NHL game
Welcome the NHL, Jack Eichel.
NHL, welcome to Jack Eichel.
The former Boston University standout now playing for the Buffalo Sabres scored his first career NHL goal in the first game of his career on Thursday night. Eichel, a Hobey Baker Award winner, was selected No. 2 overall in the 2015 NHL draft by the Sabres. He rewarded his new team with its lone goal in a season-opening 3-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators.
With Buffalo on the power play in the third period, the 18-year-old rookie fired a shot past Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson.
