Past and present Seventh Player Award winners stepped up for the Bruins in what may go down as one of the defining games of the team’s season.

With goals from Milan Lucic and David Pastrnak, the Bruins rallied past the Florida Panthers for a thrilling 3-2 win on Tuesday at TD Garden. Lucic, who earned the Seventh Player Award in 2008 by exceeding fan expecations, delivered the game-winning goal in the closing minutes.

Lucic’s heroics were made possible by a game-tying goal from Pastrnak, the rookie forward who garnered the annual fan honor in 2015. The equalizer came with just over 10 minutes remaining in the third period. But the best was yet to come for the Bruins’ line that totaled 37 points over 15 games in March.

After winning a faceoff in the defensive zone, the Bruins got the puck up the ice with Lucic taking possession across the blue line and into Florida territory. Surrounded by all five Panthers skaters, Lucic fired the puck between both Florida defensemen and beat Roberto Luongo to give the Bruins a 3-2 lead with just 1:09 left on the clock.

The Bruins survived 27 seconds of 6-on-4 to seal a win that increased their points total to 91 on the season with five games to play. They hold a three-point lead over the Ottawa Senators for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, while they also trail Detroit by just two points for third place in the Atlantic Division. Both Ottawa and Detroit hold a game in hand on the Bruins.
