Bruins 6-2 Win Over the Chicago Blackhawks in GIFs

The Bruins ended their six-game losing streak with six goals against Chicago on Sunday afternoon. After having four goals scored against them in the second period in their loss to the Blues on Friday, the Bruins scored four of their own in the middle period versus the Blackhawks.

Patrice Bergeron scored the first goal of the game three minutes into the first period, the 200th of his career.

Tuukka Rask made some significant saves in the first period, including one fantastic stop on Patrick Kane.

Rask made another pivotal save on Brandon Saad’s shorthanded breakaway to keep the Bruins up 1-0.

Mere seconds after Rask stopped the shorthanded breakaway, Loui Eriksson deflected a Torey Krug wrist shot on the power play to put the Bruins up 2-0.

Rask took a foolish penalty in the final seconds of the period.

With 1.4 seconds on the clock in the first period, Jonathan Toews scored a power play goal to cut the Bruins lead in half.

Immediately after the Blackhawks scored, Rask went to angrily slash his stick against the post, but made contact with the Blackhawks Kris Versteeg, which resulted in another Blackhawks power play.

To open the second period with the Blackhawks on another power play, Eriksson hit the post on a shorthanded breakaway.

6:18 into the second, Milan Lucic extended the Bruins lead to 3-1 with his 12th goal of the season.

Adam McQuaid and Daniel Carcillo engaged in a prolonged fight which ended with a McQuaid takedown.

The Bruins went up 4-1 when Brian Ferlin set up Gregory Campbell. The assist was Ferlin’s first career NHL point in his second game. This goal resulted in Corey Crawford being pulled.

At 17:27 of the second period and on the power play again, Dougie Hamilton scored off a Bergeron faceoff win to give the Bruins a 5-1 lead.

With 3.1 seconds left in the middle period, Reilly Smith scored his 12th goal of the season. The Bruins took a 6-1 lead into the third period.

The third period was fairly quiet, with Bryan Bickell scoring the only goal, making the final score 6-2.
