NHL journeyman and former Bruin Steve Montador was found dead at his Ontario home Sunday, police there said. He was 35.
The Vancouver-born defenseman played 10 seasons including a 24-game stint in 2009 when he helped Boston reach the conference semifinals. He also had stints in Calgary, Florida, Buffalo, Anaheim, and Chicago.

Police said they found Montador unresponsive in his home after receiving a 911 call just after 2 a.m.
“We are not treating it as anything criminal,’’ said police spokeswoman Fiona Thivierge. “It’s a sudden death, so there’s nothing to indicate anything untoward, just natural causes as far as we know.’’
Montador last played in Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League during the 2013-14 season but was forced out due to a concussion. He had previously suffered a concussion in 2012 while with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Several players, including former Bruins teammate Marc Savard, mourned his passing on Twitter.
