Former Bruins Coach Will Be Inducted Into Hockey Hall Of Fame

Former Bruins coach Pat Burns will be formally inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame this Monday. Burns will be inducted posthumously, as he died in 2010 of cancer, but his wife Lynn is there in his honor.

Burns coached three seasons in Boston, leading his 1998-99 team to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Overall, Burns was 105-97-46 as the head coach of the Bruins, before being fired at the bginning of the 2000-01 season. His best coaching season came with the New Jersey Devils in 2002-03, where he led his team to first in the Atlantic division and to a Stanley Cup championship.

The other members of the 2014 Hockey Hall of fame draft class include Los Angeles Kings forward Rob Blake, Colorado Avalanche forward Peter Forsberg, Buffalo Sabres goaltender Dominik Hasek, Dallas Stars center Mike Modano and referee Bill McCreary.
