It was two awful nights in a row for the Boston pro hockey team. The Bruins followed up a 6-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs with a 5-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens Thursday on a two-game road swing north of the border.

The first period was promising, as Niklas Svedberg played well and the Bruins scored the only goal of the period. It began with Gregory Campbell attempting to fight Dale Weise.

The next three Habs goals involved poor defense from the top pairing of Dougie Hamilton and Dennis Seidenberg. Lars Eller goal gave the Habs a 2-1 lead and Montreal never looked back.

Hamilton and Seidenberg again put forth poor defensive play as Max Pacioretty gave Montreal a 3-1 lead just 1:40 later.

One redeeming factor of the night was PK Subban going after Milan Lucic and refusing to drop the gloves, getting the only penalty on the play. The Bruins were unable to score on the power play unfortunately.
