Bruins 2-1 Win Over Flyers In .Gifs
In the opening game of the 2014-15 season, the Boston Bruins defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 with a late third period goal from Chris Kelly. Reilly Smith had a power play goal and Sean Coutourier scored for the Flyers.
The Bruins had a strong first period, scoring the only goal. The first Bruins goal of the season came from Reilly Smith on the power play, set up by Carl Soderberg and Patrice Bergeron.
The power play was a result of the only penalty of the period. It was from Zac Rinaldo and Torey Krug going at it behind the play, and Rinado getting called for the final glove to the face.

Daniel Paille had a partial breakaway, but hit the post.

Tuukka Rask’s first big save was actually made with a lot of help from Kevan Miller after the puck was thrown towards the net by the Flyers.

Dougie Hamilton roughed it up with Brayden Schenn as the first period concluded.

The second period was more balanced and was scoreless. The Bruins killed off two penalties, first Dennis Seidenberg and then to Loui Eriksson (although it should have been against Patrice Bergeron)

Robins got in his first NHL fight after he and Craig Cunningham both hit Zac Rinaldo

Schenn was not happy about it, and he and Robins dropped the gloves:

Carl Soderberg blocked a shot late in the period and appeared to be in pain, but remained on the bench.

In the third period, Sean Coutourier tied the game. It was briefly reviewed, but remained a good goal.

Carl Soderberg had an excellent game (two assists), and he and Loui Eriksson dominated the second half of the game. It eventually led to the Chris Kelly goal with 1:51 left in regulation.

The Bruins were 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Flyers were 0-for-3. Tuukka Rask made 19 saves and Steve Mason made 31 saves. Chris Kelly was the first star of the game.
