Where to Get Craft Beer at TD Garden
You don’t go to Bruins and Celtics games to sip on barrel-aged stouts, but a hard-working fan should be able to get a decent IPA or two while watching a game.
Your best bet for good beer this season is at the Craft Beer Garden, located between sections 323 and 324. The section features brews from Allagash, Brooklyn Brewery, Ipswich, Lagunitas, Downeast Cider, Sierra Nevada, Oskar Blues, Smuttynose, Troegs, and Wachusett. The beers (and cider) run $9.75 for a 16-ounce pour.
Craft beer is not necessarily good beer, and not all good beer is craft beer, but the general distinction is particularly useful at sporting events, where you can get snookered into paying $10 for a Coors Light. In addition to the craft beer section, Sierra Nevada will have two standalone bars at the Garden this season, serving pale ale and Sierra’s seasonal, which right now is Flipside Red IPA.
You wouldn’t be blamed for doing at least some of your beer drinking outside the Garden before the game. If you’re waiting for a train inside North Station after the game, the Paulaner Bar is open until 11 p.m. on game nights.
