Patrice Bergeron named NHL’s second star
For the second-straight week, a Boston Bruin player was named one of the NHL’s “Stars of the Week.’’
Ottawa’s Kyle Turris and St. Louis’s T.J. Oshie were named first and third stars of the week, respectively.
Bergeron has registered a goal in seven consecutive games, a career-high, dating back to March 18. The Boston center is second on the Bruins in goals (27), third in points (56) and tied for fifth in assists with linemate Reilly Smith (29). His plus-36 rating ranks second in the NHL, while his faceoff percentage ranks third in the league at 58.8 percent.
Jarome Iginla was the NHL’s third star for the week ending March 23. It was the second-such honor for Iginla this season.
