Here are some of the properties Paul Manafort risks forfeiting
He has properties in New York, Virginia, and Florida.
If former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort is found guilty of conspiracy, money laundering, and other charges, he may need to forfeit his multimillion-dollar properties.
Manafort “used his hidden overseas wealth to enjoy a lavish lifestyle in the United States, without paying taxes on that income,” according to the indictment.
It also alleges that Manafort, “without reporting the income to his tax preparer or the United States, spent millions of dollars on luxury goods and services for himself and his extended family through payments wired from offshore nominee accounts to United States vendors. Manafort also used these offshore accounts to purchase multi-million dollar properties in the United States.”
So where are these properties?
The first on the list is a Brooklyn home at 377 Union St. with an estimated value of $4,435,082, according to Zillow.com. The site’s off-market listing says the home has seven bedrooms, four baths, and 4,284 square feet of living space.
One of the other New York City properties listed in the indictment is 29 Howard St., No. 4D. News website The Verge has reported that this unit was once listed on Airbnb. Now Corcoran Group Real Estate has the two-bedroom, two-bath, 2,500-square-foot unit rented for $14,200 per month.
The third home listed is 1046 N. Edgewood St., in Arlington, Va, which has an estimated value of $1,676,571 on Zillow.com. According to the site’s off-market listing, the home offers four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and 2,828 square feet of living space on a 0.32-acre lot. It also notes that the 1920s American Foursquare has been fully renovated.
The last home mentioned in the indictment is 174 Jobs Lane in Water Mill, N.Y. This 5,574-square-foot home has an estimated value on Zillow.com of $8,010,812.
The indictment notes that this might be not be a comprehensive list of the properties tied to the allegations. Manafort owns other properties in these areas as well, ones that aren’t mentioned in the indictment. Back in July, agents bearing a search warrant came in through the front door of his Alexandria, Va., apartment looking for evidence of offshore accounts. This is the apartment he left on Monday, the morning he was indicted.
The real estate news website Curbed also notes that, athough they are not mentioned in the indictment, Manafort owns property in Trump Tower and a condo in Palm Beach, Fla.
