We all know about Boston’s notorious September 1 moving day by now. Moving trucks get “Storrowed,’’ couches, beds and other household items are left on Allston’s streets for free, and things can overall just get pretty stressful.

But Boston.com took a look at move-in day photos from The Boston Globe’s archives, and we couldn’t help but notice how cheerful everyone seemed.
