Chuck Woolery was hosting the newly created “Wheel of Fortune’’ game show when this robust ranch with a brick-faced fireplace mantle, de rigueur for homes in the 1970s, was built on a rise in this quiet neighborhood. Above the curved driveway, a double-wide entryway leads to the open first floor, which offers a neutral and clean-looking palette of white: on the textured-plaster walls, the cathedral ceiling with skylights, and the squares of high-end marble that grace the floor.

The kitchen was updated in 1999 with ash cabinets that have carved accents, light-tone granite counters, and stainless appliances that include a gas stove and a convection oven. The eating area is spacious. The rear of the house, with its vast sunroom with pine-plank ceilings and walls, would be a comfortable place to take in a summer evening or to sip your morning tea.

The flooring changes to oak in the sleeping areas. The bedroom of the master suite is large and the en suite bath has a soaking tub and separate shower. Sure to be a hit with the kids, a Fenway Park mural adorns a wall in one of the other bedrooms. Closet space is ample in all.

A large square, at the center of what would have been the floor of the formal dining room, has been removed to allow natural light to reach a lower-level space designed to be an art gallery. A narrow wooden corkscrew stairwell leads to the area, now used as an office and workout space. A few steps away on the lower level is a home theater with 18 seats of very plush leather. Après movie, repair to the large family room, which has a stone-and-brick dry bar.

The 1.38-acre lot, slightly overgrown in spots, is terraced. The upper level holds the in-ground heated pool, and the lower features a fenced-in tennis court.

Listing broker Marjorie Youngren of RE/MAX Leading Edge in Lynnfield is holding an open house Sunday from noon to 1:30 p.m.
