Room to Love: Master suite shines with monochromatic palette

THE WALLS
Interior designer Susan Reddick completely reworked a Greek Revival in Cambridge, including this master bedroom. “We created a serene and glamorous space using a monochromatic color palette with hints of glimmer,’’ said Reddick, who is based in Cambridge. The walls are painted in “Kind of Blue’’ by C2 Paint.
THE BED
The headboard is custom upholstered in silk. The bed is positioned between the windows because the room’s entrance is directly across from the fireplace. Crisp-white linens provide contrast so the bed doesn’t fade into the walls.
THE DOORS, SCONCES, & ACCESSORIES
Mirrored closet doors flanking the fireplace catch the sunlight to create a sense of spaciousness and relate to the Venetian mirror on the mantel. Even the backplates of the sconces from Marvin Alexander Inc. bring mirrored sparkle to the room. Other silver accents add brightness, while pink ceramics enliven the mood and keep the eye moving around the room.
THE DRAPERIES
Silk draperies were lined to add heft and allow uninterrupted sleep. Reddick set the valances at the ceiling line to create an illusion of height.
THE RUG
The custom-colored carpet sticks to the monochromatic scheme, but has an off-white over-tuft that picks up the cream color of the woodwork and night stands and adds texture.
