12 must-see open houses in Greater Boston this weekend (May 11-12)
From a two-bedroom condo in Winthrop for $264,900 to a Hingham waterfront home for $2,595,000.
The number of single-family homes and condos that went under agreement in April increased significantly year over year, according to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors, so it looks like the spring house hunt is heating up.
For single-family homes, pending sales were up 14.8 percent, and the median price rose 2.7 percent to $395,000, according to the report. For condos, pending sales were up 11.7 percent, but prices were down 0.9 percent, to $375,000.
When the association surveyed its members about the number of multiple bids they were receiving on properties, 31 percent said that either all of their transactions or most of their transactions have seen bidding wars.
