This Hull beach house not only has ocean views, but it also features a gazebo on the porch for shade during the hottest summer days when even an ocean breeze can’t provide relief. It also happens to be listed for under $1 million.
The Colonial-style home at 42 Q St. offers six bedrooms — there are two master suites — plus three full baths and one half bath. The property is listed for $869,000.
“It’s a big house,” listing agent Justine Augenstern said, commenting that the home was renovated 10 to 15 years ago and isn’t directly on the water, a couple of factors that could affect the price.
“What was done over was done really well,” Augenstern said. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were updated, and the home has an open floor plan.
“The people that own it now live in Maine,” she said. “It’s been a summer home for them.” The house sits on a 0.19-acre lot steps from the beach.
The home could serve as a year-round residence, though, according to the listing.
It is within a floodplain, and the current owners don’t have flood insurance; it isn’t required if you don’t have a mortgage, Augenstern said. “Unless you’re on a hill in Hull, you’re within a floodplain.”
