A running list of the cost to rent in more than two dozen Mass. communities (Feb. 2)

The median rental price for a one-bedroom apartment in Everett has fallen sharply since this time last year, dropping 22.6 percent from January 2019 to January 2020, according to a report the Zumper real estate site released on Tuesday.

Other communities also saw a big drop: Boston (-19.2), Cambridge (-15.1), Waltham (-14.9), Brookline (-14.8), and Revere (-14.8). Despite the decrease, Cambridge, Brookline, and Boston, in that order, were the most expensive communities for renters last month, according to the report. Lynn had the biggest jump in rent (15.1 percent).

The least expensive communities for renters were Brockton, Worcester, and Lowell, in that order.

The median rent for a one-bedroom unit in Massachusetts was $1,711 in January.
