The median home price in Boston, according to Zillow is $455,500, but you’re not going to get the same type of house (or apartment) throughout the city for that price.

We compiled some listings from a variety of neighborhoods in Boston to see what you can get for close to half a million.

Allston-Brighton

9 Gardner Street, #1

In Allston-Brighton you can get a 763-square-foot condo with two bedrooms, one bath, and an updated kitchen.

Back Bay

483 Beacon Street, #27

For $389,000 in the Back Bay you can get a 480-square-foot-condo. It has a renovated kitchen with granite countertops and a beautiful backsplash.

Beacon Hill

145 Pinckney Street, #321

In Beacon Hill you can get a 525-square-foot studio condo that is just steps from Charles Street.

Charlestown

106 13th Street, #313

When we first put together this list, Charlestown had no listings in our budget. Luckily things have changed, with an 805-square-foot one-bed in the Charlestown Navy Yard.

Dorchester

1241 Adams Street, #B502

For $450,000 in Dorchester, you can secure the last one-bed unit in the Lofts at Lower Mills condominiums. Better move quickly.

East Boston

305 Sumner Street, #1

In East Boston you can get a 784 square foot condo with two bedrooms and one bathrooms for $429,000.

Fenway-Kenmore

451 Park Drive, #1A

This one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo is 600-square-feet and $410,000. You also get a parking space and private outdoor space.

Financial District

Unfortunately we couldn’t find anything within our price range in the Financial District.

Jamaica Plain

146 Chestnut Avenue, #2

In Jamaica Plain you can get a three-bed, one-bath condo that is 940 square feet for $449,000. It’s a a short walk to the neighborhood’s Whole Foods and features a private deck.

North End

10 Sheafe Street, #2

For $399,000 in the North End you can get a one-bedroom, one-bathroom, 579- square-foot condo two levels connected by a rod iron spiral staircase.

South Boston

9 Mercer Street, #3

In South Boston for $449,000 you can get a two-bedroom, one-bathroom, 720- square-foot condo that was totally renovated in 2010. Pet-friendly as well!

South End

223 West Newton, #2

You can get a 377-square-foot studio in the South End for $399,000. It has exposed brick, high ceilings, and separate kitchen. The kicker? This condo comes with one off-street parking space.
