Nearly half of homeowners plan on moving this decade, according to the results of a survey LendingTree released in early February.
Using data collected data from more than 1,500 respondents, the mortgage lender found that 45 percent of the respondents plan to move in the next 10 years. Of those homeowners, 16 percent said they want a new house in their current community, about 15 percent are looking for a new one in their state, and about 15 percent want to relocate to a new state.
And what’s behind those moves? Nearly 30 percent of those homeowners are seeking an area with lower living costs, 28 percent want a better job, and 21 percent hope to live closer to their children.
