Millennials appear divided on whether or not they want to buy a home, according to a study released Tuesday.
A study from CoreLogic suggests that “significant number” of millennials ages 30 through 38 are considering moving within the next year, while 64 percent of older millennials are expecting to purchase a home. The youngest millennials, however, are not as interested in the housing market; 57 percent (ages 21 to 29) plan on renting their next home.
Despite the older millennials’ interest in buying a home, 43 percent view the process as unaffordable, according to the study.
“With home prices expected to rise just over 5 percent over the next 12 months, affordability remains a concern for most prospective buyers,” said Frank Martell, president and CEO of CoreLogic.
