Home values and rent growth will be slower and steadier in 2020, according to a report Zillow released Tuesday.
The report also suggested that the median square footage of a single-family home will fall for the fourth time in five years. Why? Because millennials, who will constitute the largest group of buyers in 2020, prefer homes in urban areas surrounded by amenities.
The report also said the United States will not face a recession and mortgage rates will stay low and keep the housing demand high.
Lastly, color is expected to make a comeback in the form of bold prints, bright walls, and funky wallpaper designs — a contrast from the neutral designs that have dominated interior spaces over the past several years.
