This mixed-use residential development would replace some East Boston auto shops

A development consisting of residential units, retail, and parking space has been proposed for Bremen Street in East Boston.

The site at 282-302 Bremen St. currently hosts “a series of nondescript automobile repair structures,” according to the letter of intent, as well as a residential building, parking space, and curb cuts along Bremen Street.

The developer, Bremen Acquisition, is proposing to remove curb cuts, with the potential to add 135 feet of public parking on the street.

“Uniquely situated across from the Bremen Street Community Park and within a short walk to the MBTA’s Blue Line Airport Subway Station, the Project Site is an ideal location for the upgrade and conversion of these non-conforming parcels into much-needed residential housing,” the attorneys representing the developer wrote in the letter of intent.

The first public meeting will be held June 5 at BCYF Paris Street Community Center.
