Stunning woodwork sets this 9,500-square-foot Wellesley mansion apart from other luxury homes, but its price made it the biggest sale in the region on the Multiple Listing Service.
The Barber Real Estate Group of William Raveis R.E. & Home Services had the listing for 62 Ledgeways, a new Shingle-style Colonial that sold for $6,148,995 on Nov. 26.
The wainscot, molding, coffered ceilings, and exposed beams are the stars of this 15-room mansion in Wellesley Farms. The property offers six bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms.
A family room and living room (both with fireplaces), as well as a dining room, kitchen with two islands, library, and mudroom make up the first floor. Upstairs are five of the six bedrooms, including a master suite with a dressing room, soaking tub, frameless-glass shower, and fireplace.
The sixth bedroom and one of the full bathrooms are on the walkout lower level, which also houses an exercise room, living area with a wet bar, and a bonus room with a fireplace.
Outside, the 0.98-acre property features an in-ground pool, sports court, and a porch with a retractable screen and a fireplace.
The heated three-car garage is attached.
